Earning Renown
Renown is earned from participating in any kind of RvR combat such as player killing, capturing and defending keeps, capturing zone pairs, and scenarios. How much renown gained is dependent on many factors, including: Player's Renown Rank, Enemy's Renown Rank, how long ago the enemy was killed, how many groupmates are in the vicinity, how many players help capture or defend, what tier the combat was held in, and more.
Additionally, healers are awarded renown separately by healing allies, even so much as being awarded renown from healing players that were recently in RvR combat.

Renown Trainers (Stats and Tactics) and Renown Gear Vendors (Equipment) can be found in the following places:
Renown Achievements
Rank
There are two ranking systems for characters: Player Rank (R) and Renown Rank (RR). Players start at R1/RR0 and can progress to a maximum of R40/RR80. Players are unable to receive Renown Rank higher than their current Player Rank until they have reached R40. As your Renown Rank increases, you will be awarded special titles that are unique to your army. These titles cannot be turned off, but can be replaced by other titles players are rewarded throughout the game.

Renown Equipment
Basic Renown Gear can be purchased at Renown Gear Vendors as a player gains Player and Renown Ranks. Set pieces, which are Armory unlocks, can be found not only on the vendors, but also throughout each tier such as in gold bags from capturing keeps, drops from Sergeants during Battlefield Objective (BO) siezures, drops from enemy players in ORvR and scenarios, and city captures.
Players should always loot enemy corpses when in battle - they just might be carrying your set piece!
Stats & Tactics
The second tier of bonuses and tactics requires 20 points spent in the first tier and the third tier of tactics requires 40 points spent throughout the first and second tier. Note that you can spend more than 20 points in the first tier.
Stat Bonuses
Stat Bonuses are available from Renown Trainers when a player's Renown Rank increases. Each bonus requires a certain amount of Renown Points (RP) and the cost of said bonuses increases the higher you want the bonus to be.
Example:
- Might I (+3 strength) costs 1 RP
- Might II (+9 strength) costs 3 RP
- Might III (+18 strength) costs 6 RP
- Might IV (+30 strength) costs 10 RP
Renown Tactics
Renown Tactics, like Stat Bonuses, are available from Renown Trainers and cost Renown Points. However, unlike Stat Bonuses - which affects RvR and PvE performance - Renown Tactics focus solely on RvR gain. Each tactic costs 2 RP but keep in mind that ranks 1-19 only have one tactic slot available and 20-40 only have two. For a full list of Renown Tactics, look here.
